Not only do we get rescued for a sure death in the cold ocean water but we also get to share our new, and exciting news about our engagement! Thank you so much for your hospitality and kindness - I owe you for the phone bill, it was great to finally have a phone and share our exciting news with my family. Hopefully we can get together in Denver!

Katmai National Park

Katmai National Park is located on the northeast coast of the Alaska Peninsula. The park has the largest population of protected brown bears in the world. July has the bears frequenting the salmon runs on the Brooks River, providing visitors with unparalleled views of Alaskan brown bears as they capture salmon spawning.

Katmai's physical attributes are as impressive as its wildlife. Volcanic activity is one of the many attractions the park has to offer. Beautiful fjords, glaciers, waterfalls, and mountains create an enchanting atmosphere for visitors to the park.

Halibut Cove Lodge offers access to Katmai, as well as many other pristine Alaskan locations. Exploring such remote areas as Katmai is an adrenaline rush in itself, not to mention the beautiful scenery which you will encounter.
